IUPAP Young Scientist Prize in
Mathematical Physics
Call for
nominations
The
mentioned prize, is awarded triennially,
to at most three young scientists satisfying the following criteria:
- The
recipients of the awards in a given year should have a maximum of 8 years
of research experience (excluding career interruptions) following their
PhD on January 1 of that year.
- The
recipients should have performed original work of outstanding scientific quality in
mathematical physics.
- Preference
might be given to young mathematical physicists from developing countries.
The awards
are $1000 each, plus a medal and certificate to be provided by IUPAP, and will
be given for the first time at the International Congress on Mathematical
Physics, Prague 2009.
The IUPAP Commission
for Mathematical Physics (C18) calls for nominations of candidates; the
deadline is August 3, 2008. Nominations are to be made to
the Chair of C18 Commission (exner@ujf.cas.cz)
and should include the followings:
- A letter
of not more than 1,000 words evaluating the nominee's achievements and
identifying the specific work to be recognized.
- A
Curriculum Vitae
including all publications.
- A brief
biographical sketch.
